Since 2008, the Whitby Rush has been a strong competitor in the Women's Major Series Lacrosse (WMSL), a division of the Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA) and is one of the top-desired centres to play women’s box lacrosse in Ontario.

In 2023, the Rush boasted an undefeated regular season record winning the Becky Smith Memorial Cup League Championship, as well the Provincial Title.

In their storied history, the Rush have also won a Provincial Title in 2011, were silver medalists in in 2012, 2013 2017 & 2018, and in 2014 won provincial bronze, as well as the Inaugural Becky Smith Memorial Cup League Championship, boasting an undefeated league record, and an overall season record of 18-2-2.

The team provides an opportunity for women to continue playing after they graduate from minor programs in an increasingly competitive women’s box lacrosse league.
